George Nepia is one of the most recognisable names in NZ history. He played rugby almost a century ago, but his feats are etched into NZ rugby folklore. But there's another George Nepia few would have heard of. The oldest son of the famous All Black was a soldier. But Sgt George Nepia died in active service in Malaysia and lies in a veteran's cemetery in Singapore. As Irena Smith reports, a visit to the site by the Māori ministerial delegation has strengthened the resolve to repatriate the remains of our Māori soldiers.
