Mr Eric Niyitunga, a University of Johannesburg (UJ) Lecturer at the Soweto Campus' School of Leadership, has insights which will astound us all. He is an inspiration to many people through his values of persistence, education and he has no limits even in extreme, hopeless situations.

Growing up and living in extreme war-torn countries in the middle of Africa, Mr Niyitunga has surpassed all obstacles by becoming an international researcher at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. Here, Mr Niyitunga tells his story as a young man displaced by civil war and genocide in the Burundi-Rwanda history of the 1990s, and takes us on a journey to his breakthrough in education on an international stage.
